Methodist Children’s Home Society Receives Grant Award from DTE Energy Foundation toward Child Abuse Prevention Initiative
REDFORD, Michigan (February 7, 2019) – Methodist Children’s Home Society (MCHS) has received a grant award from the DTE Energy Foundation in the amount of $10,000, to be used towards our “Prevention Services for At-Risk Families and Youth” initiative.
These funds will be used to provide targeted child abuse prevention services to at-risk families in the Metro Detroit area out of our brand new Detroit office, located in the beautiful and historic Durfee Innovation Society building.
This initiative will address the immediate needs of families at risk of having their children fall into the system; improve placement stability and permanency for children; support parents and caregivers through convenient training and parenting classes; and empower families to build safer and brighter futures for their children. On-site at the Detroit office will also be a resource bank including diapers, formula, and other items for youth available to families in-need in the local community.
MCHS shares our most heartfelt thanks and appreciation to the generous and innovative team at DTE Energy Foundation. We are proud to partner with them on this initiative, and are looking forward to growing our relationship as we work together to combat child abuse and neglect in our local community.
