Because of our partners, donors...
We believe in open hearts and open homes. Through our foster care and adoption programs, we’re able to provide safety, love and permanency to children across the state.
Our 80-acre campus in
Redford is home to 60 boys ages 5 to 18 who are in search of healing from their past traumas.
Through our Detroit Office, we offer child abuse prevention services and parenting classes in addition to our free and public Resource Center stocked with infant necessities.
Through our Long Term Foster Care program for unaccompanied children, when reunification with parents or other family members living in the U.S. is not an option, we’re helping to rewrite stories of trauma and loss by providing home studies, case management, and resources for long-term foster care placement.
Our Teen Infant Parenting Services (T.I.P.S.) program supports young, displaced mothers and their children through housing, job-readiness, education assistance and more. T.I.P.S. empowers each mother in gaining confidence, stability and independence.
Through our transitional living program at MCHS, we support teens aging out of foster care and into adulthood. MCHS provides invaluable life-skills training, financial literacy, education assistance and workforce development in addition to housing and transportation assistance.
Returning citizens deserve dignity, respect and the opportunity to lead self-sufficient, productive lives within our community. Through the Heartline program, MCHS is able to support by securing birth certificates, state identification, medical needs, transportation, housing, and more. Any parolee or probationer is eligible.
Detroit’s largest growing population is our senior citizens. We believe it’s important to create programs that uplift the seniors in our community. We offer several unique programs both support and involving seniors to promote healthy and safe lifestyles including Fresh Conversations, the Foster Grandparent Program and the Senior Companion Program.
In 2019, we recorded major improvement and growth across the board. Check out our 2019 Annual Report for an in-depth look!
